Crayfish Mornay Recipe Thermomix

- 500 g crayfish or lobster/shrimp
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 200 ml milk
- 100 ml coconut milk
- 200 g grated cheese cheddar and mozzarella
- 1 small chili optional
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- Salt and pepper
- Fresh coriander or parsley for garnish
- 50 g breadcrumbs optional
Cook Crayfish:Steam crayfish in the Thermomix for 10 minutes at 100°C, then peel and set aside.
Make the Sauce:Melt butter in the Thermomix. Add flour, then gradually add milk and coconut milk. Cook at 90°C for 5 minutes. Add mustard, chili, lime, salt, and pepper, and blend for 10 seconds.
Combine and Bake:Add crayfish to the sauce and mix gently. Transfer to a baking dish, top with cheese and breadcrumbs, and bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes until golden.
Serve:Garnish with coriander or parsley and a squeeze of lime. Serve with rice or salad.
- Adjust chili to taste.
- Can be made ahead and baked later.
