500 g minced beef or lamb 1 large onion chopped 2 cloves garlic minced 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 cup beef or vegetable stock 4 large potatoes peeled and chopped 50 g butter 100 ml cream or milk Salt and pepper to taste Fresh parsley optional, for garnish
Heat a little oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the pan, cooking until softened and fragrant.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef stock, and let it simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until soft, about 15 minutes. Drain well.
Mash the potatoes with butter, cream (or milk), salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
Serve the minced meat mixture over a generous portion of mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
You can add vegetables like peas or carrots to the minced meat mixture for added flavor and nutrition.
For a richer flavor, you can use lamb instead of beef.
This dish can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days, or frozen for later use.
