Ingredients
  

  • 500 g minced beef or lamb
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable stock
  • 4 large potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 ml cream or milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Bisto gravy granules
  • Fresh parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat a little oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

  • Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic (optional) and cook for another minute.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce (optional) and beef stock, and stir in the Bisto gravy granules. Simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes, letting the gravy thicken.
  • Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the chopped potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes, until tender. Drain and mash the potatoes with butter, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  • To serve, spoon the minced meat and gravy onto plates and top with mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately with a side of vegetables or crusty bread.
