Equipment

  • Large skillet or sauté pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Serving plate

Ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchinis sliced into thin rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional Parmesan cheese or lemon zest for garnish

Instructions

  • Prep the ingredients – Wash and slice the zucchini, rinse basil leaves, and mince garlic.
  • Cook the zucchini – Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add zucchini slices and sauté for 5–7 minutes until golden but still firm.
  • Add flavor – Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat, then toss with fresh basil leaves. Season with salt, pepper, and optional parmesan.
  • Serve – Transfer to a plate and serve as a side, over pasta, or with grilled protein.

Notes

Use smaller zucchinis (6–8 inches) for the sweetest flavor.
For a vegan version, skip the cheese or replace with nutritional yeast.
Avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent zucchini from becoming mushy.
Best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
