
Classic Whipped Cream
Light, fluffy, and creamy whipped cream that’s perfect for topping desserts, cakes, pies, fresh fruit, or hot drinks. Quick and easy to make with just a few ingredients.
Equipment
- Mixing bowl (preferably chilled)
- Hand mixer, stand mixer, or whisk
- Spatula
- Measuring cups and spoons
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream chilled
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar or granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
Instructions
- Chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10–15 minutes.

- Pour the cold heavy cream into the chilled bowl.
- Add sugar and vanilla extract.
- Beat on medium-high speed with a hand or stand mixer until soft peaks form (about 3–5 minutes).
- For firmer whipped cream, continue beating until stiff peaks form, but don’t overbeat or it will turn into butter.

- Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
Notes
- Ensure all ingredients are very cold for best results.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- For flavored whipped cream, try adding cocoa powder, coffee, or fruit puree.
- Can be piped onto desserts, pies, or hot beverages for a professional look.
